Ahhh! What is that?!

Oookay, I'll be good 😇

Thanks for the info! I worried about them when it was hot and hadn't rained for a while. Do you think they could use a supplemental water source on the route? Or is that just another kind of interference? Across the main road in there is a huge subdivision being built... Just seeing the mounds of bulldozed sand made me feel bad for the poor tortoises.
It reminds me of my childhood turtle Shelly who we found as a quarter sized hatchling on a construction site. She was so far from the nearest pond we weren't sure what to do and took her home. Her coloring was a bit different, I finally identified her as a Peninsula Cooter. Had her for years until she was killed by cold / my mistake.
She liked it when "we"(mom) caught live grasshoppers that she could bite in half while they wriggled.

Your Tortie is majestic!
Water is typically fine. A shallow pan (3 inch sides max) in a shady spot. I use trays designed to be litter trays under rabbit cages. Torts like to get IN the water to drink if they can. Unfortunately, this is also where they like to pee. So be ready to change water often. You may also attract other critters and skeeters, so keep that in mind.

They will also Bogart other people's food if they get a chance. These are the girls, and the dogs know better than to object when a hundred pound tank barges in for a snack. :)
