Looks like blood to me. Don't worry, it happens sometimes. It is no big deal. People are just not used to it, because in commercial places they remove those eggs and we don't see them in store bought eggs.

a small broken blood vesel when the egg is first developing before the shell forms around it, it's absolutely nothing to worry about it, it really does happen in store bought ones too, just not so noticable cause we admire our home grown ones so much more. [edit] especially a nice double yolker like THAT one!!

Hi,

Yep, just a blood/meat spot, nothing to worry about. As eggs age, these spots are supposed to become much less visible, so that also may be a reason we don't see them so often in store-bought eggs, they are OLD!!!
