I have NEVER. Seen this behavior before. So I just stared. In shock then I you tubed it hahah
Lucy the aggressive female or so I had thought . Was ON TOP. Of Lady 's back pushing her hard under water and wings and butts moving and Lady didn't care ! Honkin Lucy was just going at Lady.
Like what is going on? Did lady just lay 2 eggs a day then now one . And I do have a male?

Hi, do you mean 3 or 2 females? And females will 'mate' other females. I´m quite sure you have 2 females, just that one is quite dominant.

Females do that?! Like my ducks never even do that. Not even in the water . I did not know that! It was a new experience to see
Yes, it´s not unusual among geese. It´s not like so much that she´s showing who´s dominant, like dogs do, just that the more dominant ones can do it. No aggression in it or anything. Like I´ve said before, with my 3 original goslings I was sure one was a male all the way through. Called it Gilbert....more forward, bigger, when it got older it mounted its sisters, so off I went searching for a male and extra females to avoid inbreeding. When I finally found a trio, I discovered I had a gander (the new one) and 5 females!

She´s the boss of her flock, which consists of her, her two sisters, the two sisters´ 11 goslings and a gander that has paired off with one of her sisters, although he mated all 3. The gander´s just Mr Cool Dude and follows along behind.

She laid eggs, but nothing hatched, so she decided to leave her nest and help the ganderless sister to raise her goslings as if she were a gander. This year I´ll put her with a nephew separate from the others, and see what happens. I´m hoping to get some pieds and saddlebacks from them.
