Ahhhhhhhhh Duck or goose?!?!

I am arguing over myself about a duck or a goose. Im not sure which to get, I already have 4 chickend, 2 spotted sussex and 2 rhode island red. A hawk attacked one of my sussex, and its healing, even the feathers are growing back, but the other sussex keeps attacking her. The R.I.R s dont, they get along just fine. So im wondering, if i get a gosling or a duckling and raise it up with my sussex, will it protect it from the other sussex? My sussex is full grown by the way. And also, reccomend any good breeds? I think i can only get one, duck or goose, maybe, but only MAYBE, two? Please help!

Keep the injured bird separate until she is fairly healed. You can spray the area with blu-kote to help not only protect the injury from getting infected, but stop the others from picking at the wound.

Do some research before you decide. Dig around in our archives for some ideas. That is what makes BYC so great...all the knowledge!

Welcome to BYC - doubt that either a duck or goose would serve as a 'protector'. Pinless Peepers on the offending bird might solve the problem.
