I'm so glad she's doing well. Its great that you have access to a vet that knows about birds, I don't need one very often but when I do I'm SOL.

Thanks, @trefoil... I didn't used to live anywhere near an avian vet, and I am quite surprised how many of them there are in the city...

Yes, huge relief she is improving, though not clear yet whether she will recover the sight in the injured eye. But the swelling is down more today, so I'm waiting to see, and putting lots of ointment.

Just a quick update... Miss Topaz took another car ride to the vet today. The vet was "really excited" about how well her eye is doing, especially considering how bad it was initially. We have one more follow up next Friday, when she apparently wants to apply a stain to the cornea to see whether it is fully healed.

Miss Topaz flinched when I moved a finger near the injured eye at the vet's today, so is obviously able to get at least some sight from it... woohoo! And you can see clearly through the cornea to the iris in most of the eye. There's still a whitish place at the actual site of the injury.

Tremendous progress.
