Was trying to take photos to show the improvement in Miss Topaz's eye. But she kept closing it, so I sat with her in my lap, with the cell phone camera zoomed in, and tried to keep it in focus as she moved her head around.
Then I saw THIS !![]()
Now can you see it better?
EEEEEEEEK! Is that a LOUSE?????(I have actually never seen one before... so I'm guessing here)![]()
The @*&% thing was just walking around the edge of her eye, walked back into the teeeny tine feathers over her eye and vanished.
Sevin dust next?
And order that catching net so we can powder puff the rest of the crew?
Oh boy, I'm having so much fun this week I don't know whether to yellor bang my head![]()

I seen this last year on just 1 hen, she kep closing her eyes and i thought she was sick upon closer inspection i saw mites running around her eye lids, poor girl had not dust bathed in a month cause she had been sitting a nest, got her fixed up with ivermec and a area in the brooder with fresh material for her to dust bath in and she was good to go no more blinking![]()
I used the injectable first time and the pour on the second time![]()
Keep in mind that ivermec didn't work on my boy and he had those mites on his head too. It's a dilemma cuz u have to be careful of those eyes. I thought the ivermec worked worked, now ALL my birds have them!!!
I guess it doesn't work on certain types of mites.![]()
