I have 8 mixed breed duck eggs in a still air incubator. I just read today that they were supposed to have a lower humidity until lockdown? My air cells are really small. Everyone seems to be thriving in there. Im now n day 21, what do i do? Also i have a really tiny duck egg in there that is growing like everyone else. what can i expect from this tiny egg?

Hello and welcome to BYC! I'm not familiar with ducks at all but there are a lot of people here that are. You can post your question in https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/5/incubating-hatching-eggs, or in https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures. Someone is sure to help! Hope everything turns out great for you! :)

Edited to give more info.
Here is the duck thread, https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks

If you are not yet in lock down, I would open all your vents wide open until lock down to help lower the humidity and help the air cell to grow. Do what ever you can to lower your humidity and and get your air cells expanding.

Basskids has left you with some great links to follow in hopes of getting your eggs back on track. Good luck with the hatch and keep us posted!

My duckling who hatched out last week after the power went out
the night before for 9 hours and out of eight egg's she/he hatched
on day 22 and the rest passed away in the shell but that is the way
things go .....

Duck egg's are funny to hatch and you are a little into the hatch
so you should get some 100 F water and that is warm water not
hot and spray it on the egg's good and go into lock down as you
are down to the waiting game

Glad you joined us! Best of luck with your hatch and fingers crossed!

Thanks for all the help! I opened my air vents and removed the water from the wells. I put a fan in the room and my humidity is slowing dropping. Does anyone know if the tiny egg will be able to hatch?
Its just soo small but its forming just like the rest of the eggs.

All you can do is keep your fingers crossed at this point. Just get the air cell as big as you can so the chick has enough air to breath before he is ready to pip or has a place to pip from. Keep us posted! :-)

Assuming that you are working with a mallard derived breed, there is another week until hatch. I'm thinking that all will be fine. The very small egg may or may not hatch - pullet eggs are generally slightly less viable than full sized eggs. Good luck.

So all of the eggs have internally pipped. a few have externally pipped. The tiny one internally pipped but havent seen much movement outta that one. The air cells on all of them were looking way better before lockdown. There is one that has pipped externally on the side? will it be able to get out from there?
