Finally moved the rabbits to the Omlet. The blue bunny is trying to dig herself out. This girl is trying to attack them for the new space. DH finally agreed that we can rehome her.

went to an auction yesterday to look for a mom for the 6 eggs but didn’t buy one. Next auction is April 19, the day the eggs are due. Bought a 25 egg incubator and a turner for the hovabator. Ordered 20 bantams 5 dark Brahma, 5 light Brahma, 5 buff Brahma. 5 Easter eggers. If I keep them long enough I’ll report on how many males vs females. Pick up will be either April 23/24 or May 2/3 depending on Performance Poultry.

I wish it was true, but as frostranger said, commercial hatcheries would probably be using the method already.

Does the booklet say what study? It would be quite an interesting read IMO.

But if you do try it i'd love to be updated and see whether it works!
Every single one of those sexing methods works 50% of the time. except for the "hanging the chick by the head" method. That one kills enough of them that it skews the results! :D

So y'all tried it and it did not work??
Nope. I had a biologist friend in the industry who debunked it for me. She swore that if I could come up with a method to sex eggs ahead of time (or even guarantee a higher female-to-male ratio) we could not only both retire, rich, but she would take me to lunch ... and I could pick the country! We're both still working and I've never left the East Coast. ... sigh ...

When I was in high school around the same time I joined BYC, I had a friend that I thought was my best friend who I was informed had to move to Maryland. It was many years later that I found out 2 important things about her. 1, that she never left Arizona and Maryland was actually Marryland. 2, that she wasn’t actually my best friend because she had to hide the fact that she was pregnant to me to save face.

I also had twin best friends in the 5th grade that moved to Maryland. If you run into Farhana or Farzana tell them I said hi. Don’t look for Pam, she won’t be there.

OP sorry for highjacking your thread but it seems you’ve left anyway.
