ALABAMA!!

Anyone in the east Ala Talladega area with a Maran rooster they would sell or loan for my hens?

Check the local papers as a heads up- the Buy Sell Bulletin and the Traders Helper. If you don't see anything, you can place a wanted ad. Be careful in wake of all this going on.

I have received this in response to trying to ship into AL right now....

Good Morning Robin~~~~~

I recommend phoning Barbara Loveless (334-240-7255) to ask about restrictions of poultry product movements in Alabama. USDA has not released any official notices about the AI in Alabama. I have attached the latest media information on AI outbreaks in Alabama.

Sincerely, Lyndon

Alabama officials investigate 3 avian flu detections
Tony Frazier, DVM, Alabama's state veterinarian, said in a statement, "With three investigations of avian influenza in north Alabama on three separate premises we feel that the stop movement order is the most effective way to implement biosecurity for all poultry in our state." Farm, backyard flock, flea market involved.
One of the suspected outbreaks involves a commercial breeder operation in Lauderdale County, located in the far northwestern corner of the state where birds haven't shown significant mortality. Another is a backyard flock in Madison County near Huntsville. Both counties are on the Tennessee border.
