I live in Wilmer Alabama. I have 4 Silky Chickens,One rooster,one Hen and two sex not known yet. 1 RIR Hen, 1 Black Australorp Hen,4 Guniea fowl and 6 Pekin ducks.

I am new ! We are expecting 15 baby Silver Lace Wyandottes tomorrow . Have never owned wyandottes- Whats good / bad about them ?

You will like the SLW. The hens are personable and not too fussy. They are dependable layers of large brown eggs and not prone to hide their eggs (at least mine aren't!)

The roosters are protective of their hens which is their job. The worst people aggressive roo I've had was a SLW and he wasn't too bad, just sneaky.

Welcome to the group. No experience with SLW either but they are pretty when they are full grown. Let me know how you like them.
