If I can sell my EE roos then my DH would let me get some hen's if I can find any pretty one's. I did want to keep a couple of my EE roos. Two of them at least will be black and white so if I can find a few pretty hens I will be happy! I am going to keep my brown EE hens! lol I do love them already! I am just amazed they change so much and no way of knowing what they will turn out to be?

glad you are feeling well! I don't know how far from you hueytown is, but my mother in law just got some pretty EE hens from an old farmer out there. She said he had lots!

Well, the guy that was coming from Mobile couldn't make it. His GPS was acting up and he ended up in Marbry. That means he passed us twice.

If no one buys them he wants to meet us at a halfway point and offered to pay for gas and pay extra for the hens. I went out to the coop this afternoon to see if anymore chicks had hatched. The eggs that were there yesterday were nowhere to be seen today. On top of that, before we caught the hens this morning, I went out to make sure momma hen was still on the nest. I saw something black laying on the floor of the coop and went in to see what it was. It was a nearly dead RIR/BA chick that had been ripped out of its shell. I didn't expect it to live, but it's doing very well for something that could hardly breath when I found it. The only thing that saved it from bleeding out was the dirt caked to its belly.
 
Northwest Alabama here, Phil Campbell. I have 5, 4 barred rock hens and a rooster. I just built my own incubator and put 18 eggs in it. they should be hatching on May 19.

Fiance is from that area. It's nowhere near Clanton/Millbrook.

Guess I may have to get me some EE :-p
