ALABAMA!!

I am in Adairsville, GA. Hello everyone!
Hello Jenifer! Welcome to BYC from Perry Co.

Roll Tide!

One of my white rocks keeps laying MASSIVE eggs, she lays almost daily. Sometimes they're normal size, but lately she's laying double yolkers. She started laying 3 weeks ago, the double yolkers started about a week and half ago. She's laid about 6-7 double yolkers since then. Today I found an egg the size of a lemon! I know it takes time for them to get the hang of it.. but those eggs shouldn't even fit inside her LOL

Guess I am worried she's going to fizzle out quick, in the laying department.. Almost daily egg, double yolks several times a week. Women and chickens only have so many eggs in them.

Here's a bit better picture and you can barely see Fleur (the possible cochin) behind the hardware cloth. Coco is the little blonde and Esmeralda is the black and gray.

So, I'm reposting this in hopes someone with more knowledge than me can help me identify my new bantams? Anyone? I am guessing that Spike, my new rooster, is a Porcelain D'Uccle bantam based on some Google image searches but I still have no clue as to the three hens.

The hens look like they may be birchen and red pyle old English and I can't tell about the one in the cage. Do you have another closer pic?

Your little rooster looks like a porcelain old English to me. I am not an expert at all but I raised a couple of them this year and they looked like that. My porcelain d 'uccles have thick beards and feathered feet.

Thanks Jenifer...Fleur's not actually in a cage, just hiding behind an extra flap of hardware cloth that I tacked on as "temporary" fencing. I don't have a better pic of her because she is very shy of me right now and tends to stay under the coop when I'm in their run. I can tell you she is rumpless, with ginger and cream feathers on her chest, gray on the rest of her body and no feathers on her legs or feet.

Jeniferl29, you totally nailed it! I Googled red pyle and birchen and Coco is definitely a red pyle and Esmeralda is definitely a birchen. Found some pics that look just like them. Now if I can just identify Miss Fleur...she is the mystery lady so far.

I am trying to declutter the house some.. Is anyone interested in egg cartons? I have saved tons of them from store bought eggs. Got about 15 of the dozen styrofoam ones, 6-8 of the 18 egg styrofoam and a MASSIVE stack of 12 egg cardboard cartons for Aldi.

I doubt I will ever use more than a handful of them.

Would have to pick them up or meet somewhere nearby.

Okay...Miss Fleur cooperated with me yesterday and let me take her picture. She is the bird at the top of the frame. Anyone know what she is? I have no clue. Her coloring is a bit darker than what shows in this picture since the sun was shining right on them when I took the picture. Her chest when she's in the shade has some reddish tint to it that doesn't show up here. Thanks Jeniferl29 for helping me identify the other three yesterday.

They are so adorable and tiny. I had never seen a bantam until I got these four. I never knew chickens came so small!

Jenifer, Welcome to BYC. I am from Byron, Ga just south of Macon. I have enjoyed fishing a Lake Marvin in the past. Good luck with your chickens.
