Oh fun! We went to the Mother Earth News Fair earlier this month and attended a couple of those permaculture and solar energy (off the grid) lectures. I may try to check that out!
Anybody interested in 6 slate turkey poults???? A guy kept sayin he was coming to get them, but 2 weeks later, they are still in my brooder and ready to move. $12/poult or $60 / for all. They are fully feathered and ready to transition outdoors during the day.
Wow! They are both beautiful! So you have to have a permit for turkeys that aren't native to Alabama? Thanks! I really like them. I wish you had a place for these poults too! I thought I wanted the blues until a wild turkey came to dinner in the goose yard *lol* She was just stunning -- so I have Narragansetts hatching next week. Similar pattern and no permit neededYour Orps are gorgeous! I have six black ones, only 7 weeks old, I'm pretty sure 5-6 are boys, but the one I'm pretty sure is a girlsis so sweet! She's gotten to where she will jump in my lap for a snooze everyone I go see themOh fun! We JUST got done with the chicken coop Saturday and I'm sure it would take awhile to fix up something for the turkeys. I'd like to eventually free-range some turkeys, I've seen quite a few wild ones running around.

I am so excited right now! I talked to my mom today and she had some good news to share with me! First, Ducky Girl (my only surviving mallard hen) is sitting on what we hope are fertile eggs. If they are, this will be the first time ducklings have hatched for us since I was a kid! Second, I may be going home in a little over 6 weeks! I am so ready to be back in Alabama. I have so much to do when I get home and I'm excited to get to do it!
Permanent. I am not leaving Alabama again after this.Yay, Raz! Will that be a permanent move or a visit?
Quote: Me too. It keeps falling through when we make plans to leave, but hopefully since this is my mom's plan it won't.
