The top of eggs is 102 the bottom under the turner is 95.

I ordered the fan kit off ebay for the 9200. Just learned today that it wont fit the 9300

Seven degrees off is enough to insure 0 hatch! I can put an egg to my cheek and tell if it is close to the right temp. Remember that 98.6 is body temp. The eggs should only be slightly warmer than that. I can also put my face close to the top vents and tell if they are too warm. Put a styro cup in the bator half full of tepid water. Insert a oral (or rectal) thermometer and leave it for a couple of hours. That should tell you which of your current thermometers is way off. You need to find out NOW!

ETA: Whew! I thought you meant that they were 7 degrees apart at the same place. Okay, as long as it stays here and they are right, you're okay.....

Thanks. I bought a little giant 9300 with digital thermostat for $50 at tsc. I will keep yall posted on the results. Day 3. All my thermometers are readind >|< 7 degrees difference.

Is it normal? I know there are different temperature pockets in a still air but 7°? My homemade one had a 3° difference. But it's a lot smaller than a LG.

There is no way I could tell by touch. I'm impressed!

The oral thermometet is making my mouth dry. The rectal is unplesant to sit on. I know u said to leave em in for a couple hrs but there has to be a better way to calibrate thermometers

****! I need to go ahead and shoot myself! A friend of a friend knew I wanted some silkies (this was last year before I got all these chicken this year) said he had some chicks and wanted to give me some. Not sure why I said "YES" but I did!! Here I was trying to reduce my number closer to what I attended to have which was two birds

I thought I was doing good by getting my number down to 7 chickens.

Stupid chicken math.

So I've fallen in love! Does anyone know where I can get some good, breeder quality blue laced red Wyandotte chicks? I'd rather go with someone's advice on a breeder they know/have used before. There's so many of them on the internet! Or even if you know which breeder online is the best? Or the worst really! I need to know who to not go thru also. Thanks in advance!
