And you even have a gutter for the rain! All so awesome!!!!Drum roll please.. I present to you the first ever picture of my coop. LOL It's a beauty. Putting up wire now.. gotta make the door and put the sleeping/nesting quarters. It's an open design (as in, there will be an elevated 3 wall enclosure under the roof. They'll have 2 feet under it to walk around.) The whole thing is 8 x 12 feet, and the elevated coop will be 4x8, underneath the lowest part of the roof. The 4x8 section without the roof will have coarse river sand in it and have several fun perches and such. I may put sand in the whole thing, or leaves.. or whatever I come up with as time goes by. It's pretty sloped ground, so the area under the roof shouldn't get too muddy. The ladies will get morning sun and evening sun, but the midday sun will be blocked by a 60+ year old tulip tree. Behind the coop you can see my gorgeous ghetto fabulous compost pile
That area is going to be my veggie garden.
