Thanks for the advice Wisher... We tried to trade him and that didn't work and now my mom and him have become buddies. So now we absolutely have to keep him (her words not mine). So I guess we're looking for two hens. Like I said, he's just a mixed breed guy, very handsome, but he doesn't need any fancy friends.JP - you need to get that roo more than one friend or else the poor one hen will be bare backed and exhausted! (seriously)

Best to get there early--even daylight is ok usually but definitely by mid morning
Do you ever go to Ta-Co-Bet ?Oh since you have never been there parking is $1 and the animal section is all the way in the back --so park as far back as possible to avoid an uphill walk
Do you ever go to Ta-Co-Bet ?
On Sand Mountain, Jackson County, its on Hwy 40 from Henagar, just before you drop off the mountain to Scottsboro. 40 meets hwy 35 at the bottom of the mountain at the bridge.Im not familiar with that at all--what is it and where?
JP - Y'all do what you want, but if you are only going to get two (not six or seven) I would just leave him as the only chicken child or get him another roo. They should get along fine as long as you introduce them slowly and there are no hens to fight over. Another roo would be much easier to find......
