I'm gonna be in trouble....

Me and the step-son have been making friends with Mr.Roo (his name is actually Tripp, his girl is T'pol... it's a Star Trek thing.. anyway, we call him Mr. Roo). He was waiting behind the wire for us to bring him bugs, after we brought him a few. My step-son took great delight in feeding the rooster, "Mr.Rooooster, I have a worm for yooouuuu". Yeah... I'm gonna be in the dog house if/when he become nuggets/get rehomed.

Please let me have the world's quietest rooster ever

And to think I didn't like him at first..

We finally have power again! All of the chicks made it! Couldn't find hand warmers anywhere when the power went out, so I bought some if those self heating menstrual cramp pads. They works great and have a larger surface area. The peeps stayed relatively snug. In celebration if our survival we went to the local feed and seed for peep treats. Did not realize they would have chicks, so of course there are now 4 random brown layers in a New brooder. I will post pics soon, no clue what they are! They all look pretty hardy and clean. power is back all the peeps are doing well. Things are good!

I live outside jasper on 195 my 8 year old had her first batch ever in her new incubator sorry to say we had to wast 41 eggs that we set last Tuesday but we do have it ready for when the power comes back...

That sucks. I don't know what I would do if I had a batch of rare eggs or something.. Guess I would drive the darn thing to the nearest outlet that worked *camps in a tent next to a gasstation*

Just be glad they weren't developed very far along, that would have made it much worse.

When I read Tripp the first thing that came to my mind was several pairs of pants I have.
