ALABAMA!!

I finally have hatch going well! I have 5 chicks out that hatched under a broody and 2 more pipped out of the 4 left. I'll have more hatching next week and more the week after that. I have some really determined game hens.

So, some of you may know that I've been having computer problems and I haven't been online as much because of it. The following pic is the reason why and I find it hilarious!

Okay, Peeps! It's show time!

The Alabama Chicken and Egg Show is this weekend and we need to plan when and where to meet. I have never been there, so if I make the call, it will be some place arbitrary like the entrance to the Poultry Show at 11:00am on Saturday and Maybe a meet-up for supper Saturday night. Do any of you have a better place, time, or idea? I am supposed to be getting the BYC banner and some handout materials, but it hasn't arrived yet.......we'll see.

Who all is going? When are you all getting there? Where are you staying? Was anyone wanting to go but couldn't find a room?

Yeah! I thought I missed but I didn't. Going to try to go this weekend.

I have just been reading about raising mealworms over the last few days. How do you sell them and how much are they? I am very interested. Where are you located, or do you ship? I am in east central Alabama.

Mealworms are easy to raise in 11/2012 I ordered 1000 online I think I payed $22 / $28 for them I went to store and bought two clear totes cut big hole in the top of each and hot glued screen wire over the hole I had bought a bag of wheat bran at feed store and put 4 / 6 inches in each tote put the half the worms in each tote put them in the office in barn in Dec 2012 I had Beatles lots so I fixed a cooler with weat bran and vent holes and me and the kids picked out the Beatles and put them in the cooler in Mar 2013 when I noticed the worms in the cooler they were thousands if I can raise them anyone can if I could suggest anything to anyone start with about 50 / 100 mealworms they will turn to Beatles and half will be female and each female will lay 500 + eggs so do the math in 4 months you will have around 25000 mealworms. And day old chicks love'em .
