The Tuscaloosa County Extension Office will host a Regional Backyard Poultry Management Workshop at their office on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Please call the Office for directions.

If you have chickens and want to learn more management techniques, or Interested in expanding your poultry base to other kinds of fowl, or just thinking about starting a flock then this workshop is for you.

Dr. Joe Hess, Dr. John Blake, and Dr. Ken Macklin are Extension Poultry Science Specialists from Auburn University, and Tuscaloosa County Extension Agent Neal Hargle will present the challenges and benefits of raising your own flock.

There is a $10.00 registration fee to attend the workshop. Please call the Tuscaloosa County Extension Office to pre-register (205-349-4630) by Thursday, May 16, 2013.

We just built a temporary grow out pen for my November babies.... that aren't so much babies anymore.

Yeah, I really liked these cochins. I got the eggs from a guy in Jasper. Whenever I cull down to what chickens I want to keep, ANd get more pens built I may try to get some more.
