ALABAMA!!

I have been getting better! I just meant the last few months I had been sick more than not! Making it hard to get our coop built! Wish we had some help! But I think my son is probably not going to come this weekend now either...

These are just some of the pics I've posted of them in the past. If they were better known here, they'd be great for showing. I don't know where my full body shot of my roo went. They don't lay very big eggs, but they lay more than my RIR hens. Sometimes the roos come out with bad attitudes. Like the one I had to sell recently. The hens also make fantastic mothers.

They called back this morning and they're coming to get them! We had to catch them, which is never fun.

I will call my sanctuary 'camp freezer' yeah...

I got incredibly lucky. I think I only have one rooster and nine girls. If I have any more, they sure aren't making it known. They're 9-10 weeks old. Only Mr.roo crows. The gals are starting to sprout some combs and wattles, but nothing roo like. Their tails confuse me sometimes, they look a little roo like, but I guess that's just things growing in funny.

Tomtom, you are VERY lucky! I did buy 8 EE's so that I could have some variety and from two ppl at different points in AL. lol so that I could get some pretty ones, guess what 6 are going to be roosters according to the ppl on the EE board. Then the two I know are hens are plain jane brown!

These were the only birds I wanted just for me for fun and pretty eggs.....

Oh Raz, that's good news on the situation from the Mobile contact. I like those birds, they have lovely feather colors. What kind of comb, I thought it was a pea comb at first? Do they lay brown eggs?

Hey Chickadoodle, glad you are getting back up to par. Awwww on the EE's.

Can be soo frustrating. I wanted to get pics of mine this weekend, just too much going on. Hopefully soon.

I have made a decision with DH that we will not sell any of our EE's until point of lay (POL) I don't want anyone disapointed with respect to having a roo when they wanted a hen. And. then, if I have any hen/egg colors they like, all the better.

However, on your plain brown EE hens, they often lay the bluer egg, vs green.

But then, that's been my experience, there is always the brown egg, they do tend to fade pinkish with summer free ranging.

Take care!
