ALABAMA!!

I need a Black Australorp Rooster. Ordered 5 roosters and now all are laying eggs, making 19 Australorp hens who need company in time for the Spring 2014!!

Somerville, Alabama near Decatur and Huntsville in North Alabama, but I will take my truck wherever necessary to collect an Australorp Rooster who can use a new home.

I give mine a 'power boost' if I suspect trouble. Oregano oil (powerful for infections), cinnamon (fights inflammation), garlic (dewormer), cayenne (dewormer) mixed with yogurt (probiotic). Smells AWFUL, but it clears up and intestinal yuckies within a day or two.

I don't give my birds medication if I can help it, but that's a personal choice. They seem extremely hardy, but I may just be lucky.

What quantities do you use to mix this up or do you just eyeball it? I have 31 birds so would need enough for all of them.

Wow! You don't hear that much.........usually it's the other way around!

For 9 hens I used maybe 1/4 cup of yogurt, 10 drops of oregano (that's the stinky part), probably one to two teaspoons of garlic powder, one to two teaspoons of cinnamon, couple of dashes cayenne. I really think they don't feel spiceyness like we do... they will eat the seeds from jalapenos when I toss them in the yard.

Mine adore yogurt, so they gobble it up quick.

I know, right?

I will be having a black Ameraucana rooster.. eventually. He's 12 weeks but still tiny. His sister would be heartbroken if I rehomed him now, gotta wait til she's big enough to be part of the flock. Right now they still get chased around by the adults.
