@Tomtommom oh wow, I know the name. I'm Jami Davis. I went to McAdory HS (c/o '94) but PG Elem. I bet he would know my Dad - Gerald Davis. My older brother, Cary Davis, graduated in '88.
 
Well I have great news! When I took my chick to the vet he said he was totally healthy he just has some nerve damage (he thinks) in his leg which Is what is causing him to wobble. The vet gave me two different meds one in pill form I have to crush up and a liquid antibiotic to place on his food. He said if in two weeks he isn't better we would prolly need to put him down but to not give up yet. I literally was smiling all night.
 
Hi All! I'm a newbie, and recently started a petition to have backyard chickens allowed in Helena. Looking for other locals who would be interested in signing. Nice to meet everyone, we have four chicks that we adore hidden and safe in our coop that our neighbors adore. That wasn't enough, because everyone isn't as lucky to have cool neighbors like we do. So the good fight has officially begun! Wish us luck :)
 
@helenachick , good luck! There was a group that helped out with Mt. Brook several years ago called C.L.U.C.K., but I cannot find any information them around this area. Keep us posted!

I just checked his Facebook (I'm such a stalker..), y'all have one mutual friend: Megan Beard. So there. *sings "It's a small world"* Only a few days ago we were talking to our neighbor who apparently is a cousin of a friend of something something from PG.... I swear that man knows everyone out of PG

A lot of folks are leaving that area and they all end up in Helena/Alabaster/Montevallo.

I know quite a few folks in Helena that already have chickens

that said, I asked the city of Helena once, for someone else, and the official stance is 'No'. It makes no sense for the True Value (a.k.a. Ace hardware) to sell chicks in Helena if people can't have chicks in Helena

My husband is the GM at Little Caesars in Helena, by the way. Not sure why that matters, but I guess I like it when people harrass him or freak him out by saying hi.
