i've trimmed her beak before. LOTS of blood. i don't think i'm taking the time to trim it off slowly like you're supposed to do. i think she eats fine out of the feeder, but she can't scratch and pick up stuff. oh, she's also lost all the nails on just one of her feet... what's that all about?

Well, I have a not entirely happy update. I was holding off till today to find out if the situation could be changed, but it can't. We found out Friday that our landlord has been running off with our rent and unfortunately there is no proof. Our building's management sent someone out Friday with an eviction notice. As of today we have to be out by this Friday or give them the missing $5,000 we don't have. With any luck my BIL will be able to help us get home by this weekend. If not we'll have to put all our stuff in storage and Blu's grandmother will put us on a bus. I really do not want to leave our stuff behind since that would mean leaving behind SJ's bed, playpen, highchair, and most of his cloths as well as a ton of our stuff.

This whole situation is horrible. Everyone is stressed out right now. Tomorrow we start packing the apartment up tomorrow and here shortly I'm starting on our stuff that isn't important.

Wish us luck everyone. This is not going to be easy.

my mother always told me to pay rent with a check for that very reason. sorry some dirtbag put you in a bad situation.

If u are in alabama...go to ur courthouse and circuit clerks office and fill out an affidavit of substantial hardship. That will get u a court appointed lawyer free of charge. There are alot of rules in this state regarding the eviction process. It is a legal process and a landowners letter of threat isnt part of that process. U have rights as a tenant.

Yeah you should have at least thirty days to vacate. I'm so sorry to hear that! I would def look into the law about it all! Good luck!

Well, the problem is that we're in Daytona Beach, FL. My MIL has a lawyer and he was trying to talk to them about the situation, but all the managers and their lawyer did was run him in a circle. The managers said their lawyer was pushing for it and their lawyer said the managers were pushing for it. All they've done is lie. All the money we had saved up to go home now has to go towards helping my MIL get a new place for all of us till next month since my BIL found out he can't help us till then.

It's just one thing after another.
