ALABAMA!!

I have some day old chicks and hatching eggs if anyone needs them.

I hardly go out that way or I'd be all over that. But I need to be honest with myself.. I need to get 2-3 production birds to put under broody, so I can eat them. The flock doesn't need any more permanent birds. As it is I am eyeing some of my older hens.. may invite them to dinner

I rarely go to TSC anymore.. but, it's like 5 minutes from my house, so it's sometimes easier that way

Hubby gets hay/straw from True Value in Helena for me most the time. I was hoping to find more marked down raspberries at TSC.. since I managed to save 2 out of 4 I bought last time (for $1 each, that's a good deal!)

@Wisher1000 the grandkids are laying

Regular egg is for size comparison, the other 3 are pullet eggies. No olive eggs yet.

Nice looking eggs.

Tomtomtom i looked at Petals from the past, web site. Now a trip may have to happen on a rainy day. Their blueberry selection looked better than most. I have questions for them.

We have other choices here in St Clair county besides TCS. Then those places don't sell wranglers either.

Anybody need some 5 week old silver laced wyandotte pullets? Moment of weakness at the feed store. Several black sex linked egg layer pullets as well. $10 each

Considering selling a point of lay trio of crested creme legbars, but those blue eggs that Tom posted have me reconsidering....

Well, any day now I'll have Mallard ducklings. Ducky Girl is getting super aggressive and she is not giving up the nest. I'm so glad she acting the way she is.This bunch is sure to make it to hatch! I just hope my Chantie hen doesn't decide to follow the new babies. She stopped doing her weird 'get up off the nest to lay an egg in the middle of the pen' thing she was doing the first few days. She broke half her eggs like that. Everything left is doing good, though.

I should be collecting weird mutt eggs soon. I'm curious what the crosses will look like and how well the hens will lay, but I'm not that worried about it since it's a one time deal. Once the new pen gets built Saint and his girl are getting moved out of the layer flock for good so I'll have nothing but pure Chanties from them... well, her eggs are pure anyway since Saint is the only roo in that pen. No one is picking on his hen since she's so much bigger than everyone else. She just took the top slot without fighting anyone!

I'm surprised Jazzy gave it up so easily.

My apple tree is a huge disappointment again this year. I'm hoping for apples next year. My Japanese plum bloomed, but isn't doing anything now. Again, it's a big disappointment. The cherry tree is following their example and didn't produce this year. It's put out a few cherries over the past several years, but not this year. I blame the dog.

I'm still waiting for my carrots. Both of dad's Brandywine tomatos got killed by the cats going back and forth over the fence.My peas have done about all they're going to for the year. I really need to plant them again, but I'm too busy right now to do it.

I got 19 birds.. in my freaking backyard. Remember when we built the thing? Remember when I said we wanted 8-10 chickens? Remember when I said 14 would be the absolute max? Apparently 19 is the new max.
