ALABAMA!!

Thanks Bamadude. I'm looking for colorful birds, fun to watch, good egg layer and good to eat when they stop laying. Like medium size birds with some meat. I like the Rhose island Reds and Isbars. Still looking for a couple more. Probably gonna have 4 to 5 birds. Thanks for all the help.

What's up everyone. I'm in the Montgomery area new to site and to having a flock. I am working on my coop now and researching breeds that do well in my area. Would like to meet people in my area and talk birds. Anyone know about the Auction in Eclectic? Is it worth checking out? What kind have birds y'all found that do well here? Thanks for all the help I have received so far. This is a great site!

Welcome to the group!!

Hi all -- I'll be pruning this lovely "New Dawn" lady with welding gloves sometime this week. Like most women -- she's vicious when messed with, and has lovely talon thorns. Alas she's worth it.....
Free cuttings if anyone is near enough and wants to try and root some. 35040 zip code / Shelby County

So temping since I will be in your neighborhood next weekend. But probably not, some of your Eng Orp or even of of those beautiful sebastopol goose might go missing. LOL! Just kidding! But I still drool all over your pictures.

I unfortunately don't live in Alabama anymore but I am forever an Alabama girl born and raised and make my way back there every chance I get! My family is still in the Auburn area WAR EAGLE!!! My entire family are Auburn alum. I just got my first chickens in April they are almost 8 weeks old. I hope Yall don't mind me busting in since I don't technically live in Alabama anymore lol

WAR EAGLE! even our dogs where Orange And Blue

Bought some Heirloom tomatoes and pepper plants- for .50 each from a older man in Springville Yesterday. He had them listed on CL. He had a garden to make all of us envious.
Meeting people at Walmart is not really any safer. Birmingham Trussville area we had armed robberies abductions stabbings and a rape, all in daylight hours at Target and Walmart locations.

Someone was wanting RIR's? I have a source locally. She is a reliable breeder. Also has some Buff's. Send me a message if you want the contact info.

I have Isbars, cream legbars, wheaten Marans, isabel leghorns, and olive eggers (barnvelder x cream legbar) hatching June 5. Let me know if I can help

Thanks a lot Bamadude. My coop should be complete by then and I would be interested in possibly getting a bird or two from you. What city are you near? I am in Montgomery but would be willing to travel to where ever you are. I'm really excited about this whole deal and everyone on here very helpful and friendly. I'm going to google the breeds you have that I am not familiar with and get back with you. Thanks for all the help.

I live in Skipperville. I could meet u in Brundige or possibly Troy.

I built this for my overflow birds while we go on vacation. It is not too secure but my LGdog sleeps under that shop behind it. It was quick, large, and cheap compared to a wooden structure of the same size. I will cover it with a tarp and install roosts. I will also be able to take it down and put it back up elsewhere after we get home from the beach.

Hello,

I am new to this website and fairly new to owning chickens. I am looking to acquire a few hens that are good at laying eggs and are 8 weeks or older. I am pretty new to this, but am hesitant of buying them off of a website. I live in Smiths Station AL, if you are not too far away from there please let me know I would love to purchase a few.

Thank you!
