I have a question for Alabama posters....is there a regulation somewhere that says you can only have so many chickens (I don't know the number) and then you have to have a permit? I have a neighbor that said something about needing a permit (she has 25 chickens and sells her eggs)...
My flock is growing...I currently have 5 mature roosters (a couple of which need to go..) I have about 24 laying hens, 8 auracana that I am raising up not sure of the pullet/cockerel ration quite yet, 22 chicks that have hatched out, 30 eggs still under hens, and 54 eggs in the incubator. (Most of the incubator chicks are Red Star and will be for sale)...
I am out in Russell county....I have 22 acres total, my chickens are free range on about 2 acres...(for some reason, they like being up by the house...
Anyway, the neighbor told my kids that I needed a permit to sell my eggs if I had more than a few chickens....Any help with this would be appreciated...
