Alagaesia - a human, dwarf, urgal, elf, dragon, wherecat, and others RP - re-start!

Marcus ducked when he saw the sword coming and just barely avoided it. Well... almost. As it passed him, the hilt of the spinning sword smacked him in the back of his head with enough force to make his head ring a little. The sword continued flying on through the air, embeding itself in the far wall of the throne room. Meanwhile Megan was in the process of jumping out of Cruor's way, but she still would have become a human shishkabob if not for Dirk's lightning reflexes. While Megan dove to the side, Dirk brought the blade of his sword down on top of Cruor's outstretched sword as the later hurtled towards the teenage archeress. The blowshoved the end of Cruor's sword down into the floor where it sunk a good foot deep into the stone bricks and held fast. With the momentum the Shade had, it would take something not far short of a small miracle or near-instantaneous reflexes for Cruor to keep ahold of his sword without ripping his own hand clean off. Meanwhile, Jason, Jessie, and Cody, the trio's dragons, finally came running through the main enterance to the room and immediatey saw The Queen in danger. All three were very intimidating, battle-hardened, and formitibly-sized dragons; Jessie, Megan's dragon, even had to duck her head a bit to fit her 40-foot-tall frame through the 35-foot doorway.

Cruor did not let go of his sword, and while it didn't hank off his hand, it did hurt quite a bit. he slashed at Dirk this time, noticing the dragons entering the room.
Nightwing saw the queen in danger, but wasn't sure who was trying to save her and who was trying to kill her. so, he grabbed the queen gently in his talons, thocked Cruor's hand holding her genlty with his tail, making him finally let go, and then he flew out of the room.

Dirk brought his own blade up just time to parry Cruor's. The Shade was weakened by the loss of so much energy and because he wasn't leeching off The Queen's energy, but the blow still carried respectable force. Meanwhile, Marcus had pulled Cruor's other sword out of the wall and now the boy came running at Cruor with the Shade's own sword in his left hand and the teen's ax in his right. The trio's dragons now stood in a close circle around Dirk, Megan, and Cruor in an effort to protect the teens while preventing the Shade from escaping.

The shade jabbed again at Dirk, and in the same movement made a smooth downward stroke at Marcus's wrist, extremely fast, with intention to chop off his hand and regain his other sword.

Dirk again blocked Cruor's blade, but just barely. A tuft of his firey red hair fell to the floor as a sign of how close he came to loosing his head. Marcus's reflexes were fast, but just barely not fast enough to completely dodge Cruor's attack. He was able to get his left hand mostly out of the way of Cruor's remaining blade, but the Shade still managed to entirely remove Marcus' left little finger. The boy screamed in agony and dropped Cruor's blade on the Shade's own foot. Jessie, enraged at seeing Marcus get hurt, quickly raised one massive foot up and then started to bring it down directly ontop of Cruor, intending to pin him to the ground.

(who's hair, Cruors or Dirks?)
Cruor didn't even notice the Dragon's foot. his sword has embedded itself in his foot. he bent down and yanked it out. it bled a little, but it didn't hurt to bad. the dragon's foot missed him mostly, but a claw snagged him. he muffled his yelp as he felt his back being torn.

(Dirk's hair, not Cruor's. Btw, how do you pronounce his name, "Cruor", or do you even know?)

Noticing that Jessie's foot had mostly missed the Shade, Cody, Marcus' dragon, (who was even more enraged at seeing his rider lose a finger to Cruor's attack) turned around and swung his mace-like tail at the Shade's chest. Megan had dropped low to the ground while remaining on her feet in a way only a very flexible girl could. She was positioned behind Cruor and was ready and waiting to kick the Shade's feet out from under him when he stumbled backwards from the hit from Cody's tail. In order to help more with that, she had begun casting one of her favorite combat spells, even before Cody had started to swing his tail.
"Your vision will be clouded, your senses dulled for sure; don’t bother rubbing your eyes, for they shall work no more!" she chanted, slowly rotating her hands around a ball of purple light that had appeared when she started. As she reached the final words, the grapefruit-sized orb began to vibrate slightly. When she finished, she pushed her hands foreward and the orb shot out towards the Shade. It wasn't simply flying in a straight line, but it was homing in on Cruor and it would pursue it's target without hitting anything else until it found its mark, was stopped by the one who cast the spell, or eventually fizzled out on its own after an hour or two. When it hit Cruor, his vision would become severely clouded for a while, like he was looking through the darker, deep water at the bottom of a murky lake. He would also become very lightheaded for a few minutes, hindering his ability to react to attacks.

(i have no idea how it's pronounced, but i pronounce it Crew-or.)
Cruor didn't mind much the pain in his chest from the dragon. oh, he was sure he had broken a couple ribs, but what disturbed him was the purple ball of light. he had no idea what it would do. "Blothr du Vanyali!
"blothr du vanyali! skolir eka!" he called in the ancient language. (roughly, stop the magic! sheild me!)

~{Meanwhile}~

Demeter and Angravel made their way through the crowds at the masked ball. As they walked to one of the balconies they were joined by Phoenix and Renkah.
