arya and aSaphira walked into the study to see an upset eragon and an angry miriel "what?" arya asked.
eragon shook his head "you frightened selena terribly and the four of you might not like my latest decision...." eragon said looking at his hands. eSaphira watched them all, like a living blue statue, the only movement was in her eyes.
 
eragon sucked in a sharp breath, "here goes nothing" he thought to eSaphira "arya and aSaphira are your new instructors, you will treat them with the respect you have me" he said quickly.
arya wanted to protest with eragon but would never disrespect her elder in such a way. aSaphira raised her eyebrows and hissed in surprise.

Miriel blinked in surprise, then narrowed her eyes. "That will never work. Selena is terrified of them, especially Arya. She will do everything she can to avoid them, and if she learns that you want them to be our teachers, she will lose her trust in you, too. I speak from experience, Master Eragon. You don't know what you will do to her."
 
Eragon sighed deeply and looked at the three of them gathered around him "my decision is final, Arya, you will train Selena to be a rider. aSaphira you will be training Miriel, you have training area on the northeastern side of the island on the south side of Fell Nangorith. Arya, leave now and go to find your student, i wish to speak with Miriel and aSaphira alone." eragon said firmly.
Arya bowed slightly "yes Ebrithl" she said and swiftly left the room in search of Selena.
aSaphira bowed her head slightly, of all the dragons on this island she believed Miriel disliked her the most.
 
Selena was curled up on a branch of a tree, crying. A red squirrel noticed her distress and curled up on her lap, and a bluebird flew down and landed next to her, looking at her with concern.
 
Arya walked outside mumbling to herself "of all the riders he would put me with he put me with her!" she exclaimed, "SELENA!!!!" Arya called out.
eSaphira looked at the two dragons sitting infront of her closely "what is in the past is in the past, we cannot change it, only move forward. her past is something that is no longer relevant, she must learn to move on" eSaphira said in a gentle but firm voice, eragon sat in his chair with his hands folded.

Miriel sighed. 'I guess you have not. Well then, I'll tell you. Selena was always very shy, and her parents and brother always had a hard time getting her to meet new people. When she was six years old, she met some people, some humans, who were very nice to her and who she liked and trusted, even though she had known them for only a few days. Then she disappeared. As did the humans. They kidnapped her, and beat and abused her for almost the entire time they had her, which was about two months. When her parents found her, she was terrified of just about everyone. She wouldn't leave the house. Finally, two and a half years later, her brother convinced her to go with him when my egg was being presented to all the twenty year old elves. The rest you know. However, there is one thing. Arya looks and sounds almost exactly like the woman, and it was the woman who was cruelest to her."
