Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

So Spangled Orloff chicks are orange. Should be interesting to see what the Mahogany one ends up being.

I love Polish birds...lol

Oh boy. Well, that was interesting.

I told the boyfriend sheepishly this afternoon that I accidentally ordered five ("just five, sweetie!") baby chicks a week or two ago and they came today and I needed to go pick them up. He huffed and puffed and grumbled but eventually said "fine, I'll just watch my race." (NASCAR.)

Well, that was all fine and good, it was starting to rain anyway. However, he was not terribly amused when I came home with NINE chicks AND....another RABBIT! He was taking a nap, he woke up with Sil (her tattoo is SI1) on his chest. He doesn't really wake up very nicely, I should have known better than that.

To top it off, he still doesn't know about the 2-3 Silver Fox rabbits I may be picking up tomorrow, AND, when I get home I notice my OTHER doe carrying around nest material so....geesh. Rabbit and chicken population explosion. Poor guy.

Hey Donna....yer babies are here whenever you're ready for 'em!

Well, they will be here this evening. Hope they have the correct coat, when you run you're hand over it backwards it's supposed to stand straight up and not lay down until stroked down. The breed did originate as a dual purpose meat/fur breed, I can't wait to play with them!

Deb, have two little girls on their way. I bet they're gonna get along great with Sil!

Bonnie, how is Willow this morning?

Rachel,

I can't wait to see them! You'll have to share photos of your new Flemish baby too!..... All the babies have now officially been placed. I have a couple coming back
from breedings I did this summer, So Bonnie if you guys are still thinking about one I might have one or two available before winter. I'm really excited about next spring, I can start
focusing on all light greys!

He is still calm and restful, and alert. Each time we check in on him we get a *gentle wag* and a knowing look.... he knows and understands, but he is not ready either.
