Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

Well, I'm finally getting eggs again this past week. Started out with a very soft-shelled egg in the roosting area, and then another obvious pullet egg, followed by a whole flurry of small pullet eggs and big eggs, so I guess all the girls are starting to kick it into gear just in time for fall. In fact, I got three eggs out of the 5 birds in a little over 24 hours! GOOD chickens!

Those freakkin birds and rabbits are so therapeutic for me. After the craziness of the Fair, it was so nice to sit in the sunshine this morning and watch my chooks and bunnies.

I still have one renegade Silver Fox that seems to want back into the pen, but won't let me catch her. The second SF is unaccounted for.

I'm very disappointed, as she was my favorite of the two.

I've been meaning to get over for the last 2 days but something keeps coming up dang it. If you will be there in the morning I'll give it a go then. We have to go into town tomorrow, but if you are there in the morning I can get by then.

Yep its a little late in the year to be hatching anything......you'll be brooding them in the house most the winter. Even after they do feather out they
won't be acclimated to the weather outside.
