I hate to be the bearer of bad news, it seems like I'm always saying something not so good...but
you don't want to raise meaties during the fall/winter. You won't get a robust bird with good fat on it. They are
busy storing up all their fat for energy to keep warm. That's why you do chicks in the spring and butcher in the fall.....
Of course you can do whatever you like, I'd just hate for you to be in for a huge disappointment.
Is it too late now? He'd be butchering end of October or beginning of November... They're HOT birds... They might not reach huge weights, but I think they might be ok. ??
