Im not sure all i know is it makes em lay really good in the winter.my grandpa told me to put it in there food cause an old lady that had chickens told him that and i tryed it and it worked well.
i dont have real good measurments i usually put like a hand full in my big hanging feeder thats as good as i can describe it.i made a thread on it ill try to find it and bump it.
