LOL Carmen, MORE layers? How many will that make? You starting an egg laying enterprise down there? I know someone who will buy once they're all laying!

Actually, I am going to be down in Sterling next weekend and I have girlfriend who will be with me that may be interested in a few more. I think I have finally settled in with 22 layers after Elizabeth bought two and three Jersey Giant pullets went to a friend. I am still looking for a home for two cute little guys that I don't want to go to the freezer. They might start looking like good freezer candidates though if they start getting an attitude--not a problem right now.

I wasn't turning down such a great opportunity to have a custom avitar.

Ooh... Talk to Donna! Would you be able to take a couple of silkies back up that way?

You'll just have to come out and pick some out.

That might work. She would have to meet me here in Anchorage Sunday afternoon around 4 or 5 when I get back. Dh would croak if he even thought I was bringing more birds home. I won't know for sure if I'm coming until Friday morning, but things are looking good.

Okay Tori, I have to ask how old the bcm pullets are? I am totally interested.

Our trip down won't be happening this time, my husbands sister unexpectedly came up from the lower 48. I'm not complaining at all, it just changed our plans for a few days, and now it's almost time for Joe to go back to work.

LOL! Carmen... sorry. I opened up a huge can of worms there.

Maybe we can all make it worth your while to play courier.

Aimee, they're old enough to be outside, but not laying yet. The girls I'm referring to came from my BCM pen, with a dark roo over a couple of good looking girls. Trouble is, the coppering in the babies is slight to non-existent, and I haven't raised any of the F1 chicks to maturity so I have no idea how dark their eggs will be. Mom's eggs are super dark for the first 6-10 months of laying, and have now lightened to about a 4 or 5. ALL of my breeders are molting now... looks like a huge pillow fight in a dormitory took place.

They're pretty little girls (I have boys, too, that can accompany the ladies) but lacking the copper. They'll probably only be good for dark eggs to sparkle up the egg basket.

So, having said that, I will do an inventory sometime this weekend to get an idea of how many we have available. Since they're not up to my breeding standards, I would let them go for my "normal" POL pullet price of $15 (+3% Sterling Tax).
