Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

Well, I went through that box of scraps and now have several freezer bags of spine bones and tail bones and who knows what else. Scraps for dogs and scraps for chickens. Everyone should be happy for at least a month or so. There was a mess of scallops in there, too! What a waste. Oh well, I hope the critters like them as much as I do.
The dogs helped me sort by staying out of the kitchen, so they each got a nice beef bone to munch and crunch on. Now they're taking a nap and dreaming puppy dreams. The chickens have a new flock block, so they're content. I haven't had any coffee, so I'll take care of me now and get some!

Even though I'm glad for the break, I'm looking forward to Spring.

I think I'm going to concentrate on the Orpingtons and Dorkings.

Oh, and my chickens eat just about anything put in front of them... I boil meat/fish first, but it's still gone like a pack of wolves descended on it.

Wow...they are beautiful! You can really see the relation between this breed and the Australorp in the face.

Have fun with that! It's going to be cold tonight I think. Some fool ran his tanker truck off the road by the Chickaloon River along the Matanuska and apparently its leaking everywhere, driving too fast it looks like. Now they are trying to contain the mess. Nice work.... I didn't go look.

Took out 200 ft of guardrail in the process....

Yup. Sam and I responded and went to see if help was needed, nothing for the FD here to do as there was no fire. Tomorrow I'll check the river here to see if there's a sheen.

Can I use bag balm on chicks?

That's what I am worried about. It will probably be all down the river once it gets in there, if it does....
I don't know why not Bonnie. Its good stuff for everything else....

I'm so exhausted, all I wanted to do today was get my girls hair cut, grab a couple gallons of milk & find my boy some shoes he'll actually keeep on his feet. I left here at 5:50 and just got home 20 minutes ago. It took an hour and a half just for the haircuts. It was an hour and ten of waiting, 20 minutes of cuttting. Did I mention I have a one and a half year old?
Amazingly he was an angel, but by the time we left there everyone was starving, and on and on.

So, I just got on here to let whoever cares know that Freds has the BOSS in 30lb bags for $17.99 in Wasilla. I don't know if that's good or not, but I thought I'd pass it along.

Goodnight!
