Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

I'm behind you a little bit, but Donna and I candled my BBS/Part Silkie eggs today and it looks like 8 of 11 have veining and some movement! I set on the 30th.

Ok, this is really weird.
I have another hen that is breathing oddly, and is going down to skin and bones.
And I have confirmed that only that one hen that was egg bound, had worms.
None of the other three had worms or any other sign inside or out as to what was wrong.

Fluid in lungs, and skin and bones is all I got for symptoms!

Another new Alaska member joined and asked about her rooster being at deaths door yesterday morning!
Have not heard back what she is feeding them...

last candling shows 9 of 12 moving. Lockdown has begun! Nov 9th hatch date.
I am impatiently awaiting My first Columbian Rocks!

We are a dispensable group, raising chickens in a way that is not "big" and under anothers control.

3 guesses why we strive to do it all ourselves and local, and the first two don't count
