If you could order 15 Lbs for me, that would be great.... What are you using your kelp for... chicken food supplement?

So, 3 bags of DE?
Kelp is for the feed mix. They need it. Eggs this week are telling me so.

Yes 3 bags is good, and I will try part of your kelp bag too if you want to split some... 10 lbs maybe?

Well, I can let you know that day it comes in, and you can meet me there. Would let you see how our co-op works as well,
or, you can meet me in Palmer on a Sunday afternoon after we are done with church.
I do not yet know when the next order arrives.
Will find out soon though.

I was reading her post wrong, I thought it said "go in on a 50 pound sack OF Azure" rather than "go in on a 50 pound sack FROM Azure"

Sure. That covers 30 pounds of kelp. Still have 25 available.

Just let me know then... Palmer is good for me as I live in Chickaloon! But we can get out further that way if it is necessary... Thanks Paula.. I have intended to check into your Co-op before but things have been unpredictable lately....

How many chickens do you have Paula?
Speaking of not reading something

Counted last night....38 we think, but a few of them are growing up RIR boys.
We put almost 60 chickens in the freezer this summer, CX and roos.

Now, if we can figure out why my older hens are dying off for no reason.....

That's bad... Any ideas there at all? I know you aren't using the feed that's been a problem....

None. We have done "necropseys" on 3 of them. One was egg bound for sure, so unrelated.
The other two showed no signs of actual illness, other then weight loss, fluid in lungs and purple combs.

This latest one that is wheezing heavily and has dropped weight is now in the wood box, and noshing on
raw kefir, a huge dose of clo mixed with BOSS.
Her poops are normal, and she is perky still at least.
And, I think she is still laying.

It is entirely possible, that this particular batch of chickens have a genetic heart issue.
I know every hatchery and every year is different.
I want to keep a few good mommies out of this group, so they can set Red Star eggs for me and a few of their own.
