I know... if they didn't give us so much it wouldn't be worth it, but that also makes it harder to lose them... You just give them all you can and hope for the best.

when my rooster pebble dies i might temporerly quite raising chickens but i cant think about that right know hes only a year old

Oh I probably wont candle now till day 18....I am so excited!!! (for other reasons too and it has to do with the second incubator being fired up.....HA! )......

Second incubator? What's going in? I feel much better now about hatching more eggs when I PROMISED myself I was done... So much for that!

What do you do with all the chicks? If they don't hatch for 3 weeks, you're looking at an August hatch date, then weeks of brooding...
isn't it hard on them to be put into the coop so late into the year and so young?

Donna, I think next year. I just won't say those words and just put everything away, quietly.....LOL~

Aimee, they'll be brooding the house for the first few weeks, then I'll set the brooder up in the left side of the coop again. Most everyone is moving
to the right side for the winter.....most of them are roosters so those will be going to freezer camp.
It sounds as though we'll be building a little coop for the guineas as well, so that they'll have their own area and on the other side, I'll have a grown out pen/coop! YEA!!!
