Oh, you are good, hitting me in the PM box and in the thread. I do want some of those dark brown eggs...

Are you going to be in the Sterling area any time soon?

Hey the hatching part will be done for ya......granted, I'd like to get a few for myself but like I said I'd share since you lost your
other babes.....then ya only take as many as you need.

I still have both 1502s full, plus a hovabator.

I just cleaned up the hatching trays, and it's time to transfer duck eggs again...
but someone just left with 11 chicks, and there are 2-3 more people coming today, so we keep on trucking. Deb, I have another 2 dozen from back east...

I don't think she needs more than a gentle nudge, to tell the truth. Let her step back into my parlor, and she will be dusting off the incubator...

There's still ~2 more weeks to set before it's too late and the babies will be too young to go outside before it gets too cold. My last official "general" set is the 30th. After that it will be to fill in any blanks for next season, or paid orders.

BTW... I have a rose comb RIR rooster growing out, and he is choice #1 to put in with my Barred Rocks for the black sexlinks... Rose comb black sexlinks... think of the possibilities.

My coop is 8x8. I have a small coop. I have too many as it is... three roos, I can't keep all three, but how do I choose? I'm going to go by personality I think.
If my girls would let me get rid of the two GL Cochins I'd have more room, but those are their special chickens. One has been broody for ever, and the other isn't laying either, I think she's molting.
See, I have a problem. I'm trying to talk myself into it.

Let me help you out, here... you saw my layer pen, and how many birds were out there? That coop is 8x8'. Think about it... more bodies = more heat = less electricity in the winter.

I didn't have to do anything more than a heated water base out there last winter...
