Checking in. I am dead dog tired. DH is making a fort knox chicken tractor. Is 4 weeks to early to put CX out on range? Some of them have pretty good feathers and some of them are little baldies. I have to get them out of the garage as my MIL is coming on Thursday. Their fragrance is starting to waft into the house. We smell like a chicken coop. AAAAARGH. I was thinking to run an extension cord to some brooder lamp out there. Is that just crazy? What do the rest of you do? Did I just start too early with my butterballs?

I think they'd do okay with a heat lamp as long as it was safe and draft free.
