I just had a friend email me and tell me that the partition in her brooder had a gap in it and one of her Bobwhite day old chicks
got into her chicks (chickens) on the other side and killed 3 of her 4 chicks.....
IIF, it actually happens quite a bit. Quail are vicious and a lot of folks
dont realize that this is very common. She had warning that this would happen and somehow it still did....
thanks for the warning im glad i dont have any other chicks brooding.the brooder has a red lamp.would they kill my full grown chikens when they are older if they got out

Pandora, my mom had the same thing happen to her foot a few years ago. She was trying to "save" my DD from falling off the swing, and when she took a big step forward, we heard the bones break. Like snapping branches. She said afterward it didn't hurt, we had to make her go to the hospital.
Missing hen huh? Do you have any ideas who the human predator could be?
Pandora it does work... a little over a year ago I had one of my dogs break a leg - Memorial weekend... Called vets to find out price to set.... $1200 that I didn't have. He is once again jumping 7'+ in the air. It was a very long 8 weeks of wrapping and rewrapping twice a day, and an even longer 6 months of therapy to keep him from injuring it again.
