Donna, before I forget, you need to snip the dew-claw from the right foot of your babies... that let's anyone that sees them know that you raised them from domestically raised mallards and didn't snatch them from the wild.

Just take some sharp nail-clippers and snip it off... it's easy and the sooner you do it, the less painful it is for the babies. I do it when I transfer from the hatcher, and there's usually no blood, or perhaps one tiny snick.

It - is - done -..... They took it a lot better than me...

It will probably drop back down now, so just use the vent to see how it settles...

Go ahead and shut it now if you like.. There is a little lag time on that. If you look in the morning and it's a bit high just crack it again...
