I finished the coop today with huge help from the Bear, who framed it in before he left and built and hung the door today.

It's a palace says my son. ( he and Kaasan helped me put up walls and insulation) My grown summer chicks are in it tonight. Now, I can flop.....

How did your bees do this year?

Bonnie, I bet a few of these hatching addicts would be glad to incubate eggs for you if your live incubators don't work out.
Heck I'd give you the gold laced cochins I have here but they belong to my girls. They rotate being broody all the time. We'll see how long this one goes for.

Huge load off.
We got 3 1/2 quarts of honey. Some of my fellow keepers didn't get any. If we had had this last 10 days in July, it would have been gallons but.... It was divine, and all gone. I need to plant more Japanese tree lilacs...... They have a scent like sweet lemon butter and you could taste it..... Next year I hope to have better weather and enough for folks to try....
