I live in Wasilla. Can any of tell me what mites, ticks and other bugs I have to worry about up here north North? It seems like the hotter climates would breed more varieties of bugs. I would like to know what you have experienced and what are possiblities for my darling chickens.

Quote:I don't know for sure, but would think you would have the potential to have the same bird parasites as everyone else. They are carried by migrating birds, and many birds migrate throughout Asia and North America flying over Wasilla.

Yes but our extreme cold temps come into play too... One of the reasons that most of the state doesn't have a horrid flea problem like the Lower 48.
