It takes about a year before they are full grown. Keep in mind, Ice is just short of being full grown....

Hmm, if they are nice thick furred rabbits, I bet I can hook you up with someone that might make it worth your time. Not me, I don't tan, I just sew. But I have a friend in Okanogan that has a tannery.

Yea, we would have to talk to hubby about that, if he would even want to mess with it.

Sounds good, just let me know and I'll drop her a line and see what she's paying for rabbits, I'm sure price would depend on size

I know we all try and make a few bucks wherever we can!

Will that space be enough then for the time being? I am trying to recall the dimensions of yours but my memory is not sufficient reference!

I think so Donna, just as long as he has a hard surface to lay on so that
his hocks don't get sore......I think thats about the size of ours...maybe a little bigger? I think we are 2' by 4' with half of the 4' being a box

It will be plywood in the whole thing, with wood shavings, if that is okay. I'll get with you on other requirements but I'll be working on that tomorrow.

That should be fine for awhile. You'll eventually have to change out the bottom where he'll
decide to make his toilet. You will want wire there (or a cat litter box). The wood will deteriorate really quick with
all his excrement.

Just think, if you use a cat box you'll have a house trained bunny!

That would make him better than one of my cats!

I can put wire in part of the bottom then pretty easily. I didn't think about the wood damage. that makes sense.

Deb, "Snot" sounds like a "Nightmare grump Bunny from Hell"!

That's too bad... sounds like she throws good litters.

Disheartened yesterday morning... ordered chukars and pheasants from Dunlap Hatchery in ID... despite their reassurances, the shipping took 3 days.

They sent twice as many pheasants as ordered, and I only lost 5. They sent a few extra chukars, and I lost over half.

Spent the better part of yesterday morning trying to save lives. I wish my own birds were laying better...

But on a lighter note, today's the day I candle eggs sent from Miss Prissy... All orpingtons... 6 dozen, minus the 5 that broke in transit.

Cynthia, I still have the black orpington hen that I hatched from your eggs last year... everyone ooh's and aah's when they see her, as she has the prettiest face.

She throws beautiful chicks with Bob, too. I think I am finally going to be overrun with orpingtons this year.

Not a bad place to be!
