Is it bad that I don't regulate my humidity?

I have a Sportsman 1502... when I'm incubating I keep the pan full, but no filter wick. When it's time to hatch, I add a filter to wick it up, and I keep the pan full. Works like a charm. For the homemades, I put a plastic tub of water in there, and the same thing... no filter during inc, but I keep it full, and during hatch I add a filter wick that is cut down to size to fit the tub.

I'm pretty sure the broodies don't stress it...

I am glad to hear that. I haven't taken it that seriously before and it worked okay. I always wondered how a hen maintained a perfect humidity, and she's waaay better at this than I am for all my hand wringing.

I am no expert, but when I take the eggs out from under the hens in the nestbox, they are warm and moist.
I always figured it had to do with their breathing, Because they expel moisture as they breath....

I wanted Spring!

We hit a high of 31.5°F today... breezy, too... lows tonight around 15F, if I have to take a guess. It's been snowing on an off all day.

Entering lockdown again tonight...

Our weather reports more Blowing & snowing through Tuesday! ugh I really hate driving in it and I have to go to Fairbanks in the wee early morning for court......darn it all!

Isn't that the way it always is? The worst weather happens when you have to go to Town... I hope the court thing isn't more grief on top of it.
