I have 6 new Dellie babes, and 3 more that have hatched but barely hanging on. I don't think I'll be doing anymore staggered hatches.

I think the only way to have staggered hatching is to have a seperate hatcher or spare incubator for just hatching.

I have 4 incubators and only 2 are working,(the two browers galvanized need repairs) so I am using the 2 LGs and switch their tops as needed as only one has the fan, and I only have one turner.

when I am doing a staggered hatch I use the turner in the forced air to incubate and the still air to hatch, I remove the eggs from the turner, and place in egg cartons in the next incubator.

I love them too! I own all seven. Did you read An Echo In The Bone?

No! I'll have to look for it (unless you have a copy I can borrow?)

Yea, thats what we have. We have the 1588 for incubating and the homemade hatcher. I just don't know about this hatcher though, it swings from 95-100 degrees and the humidity is pretty high (if I adjust it, it becomes too low). I can't seem to find a happy medium.
The BCMs egg I had in there was drowned and the last three were shrink wrapped.
I have three more eggs due on Weds and then I wont have anything else due till the middle of the month, so Im hoping our new incubator will be here so that we can get this hatcher working right...

Yes I do. I can mail it to you. You have to let me know what you think.

Thank you Aimee! Right now I'm not too hopeful....I was having wonderful hatches before we had this idea
of making a hatcher. Out of 15 I have 6 in the brooder and 3 are still hanging out in the hatcher. One of those is
looking pretty good, but two look pretty rough. I'll leave them there until tomorrow and hope that they catch up.

My Jaehons are due in 2 weeks also Deb. The hatcher sounded great when you described it. I've thought about making one (on the small scale) Hope these come through for you, and you can get it calibrated.
