My eggs are here from Brook Valley Farms! Maria not only sent me extra Polish eggs but she also included 5 BCMs eggs as an experiament. She doesnt know the fertility on her guys yet so I said I'd be happy
to test some out! What a wonderful transaction!

Jim was standing there, "What are you doing?"..."what exactly are you doing?"....."WHY on earth are you taking photos of EGGS?!?!?!?!"......."What are you doing?" LOL.........Walked off shaking his head.

Congratulations Donna!!! They are adorable! I sure hope everyone has good luck with the eggs I have sent off, Tori, Aimee.....!

I'm just hoping they are taking their time. I read somewhere that the darker eggs take a few days extra. You would think I was new to all this BCM hatching, but I don't remember it taking this long with the first two batches....

Very nice eggs! Good luck with those!
The first batch I did was a day late, the second a day early (?) There's things I just don't get.
The faves hatching now were due (2 batches) today and tomorrow. So guess who's hatching now? The ones due tomorrow. The others are rocking, but no pips. They've got their own time table, I guess, and they're stickin' to it.

The Faves are, so far, my favorites. They are so mellow, very quiet and supposedly can be bullied pretty bad by other chickens. This one is in with a BLRW and when I reach in the other chick makes some racket but Blondie just looks at her like "Chill Dude"! Nothing ever riles them, kind of like hippies, groovin' with a peace sign....

I'm very excited about your eggs in my incubator. I've heard that a lower humidity is good for the BCMs, too... I'm trying it out in a separate Hovabator. The problem with my girl's eggs is that they're HUGE, very dark, and the shell is so thick I don't think the chick can pip!

Doesn't help that they're beautiful if I can't hatch them. I may move my girls to the general population and just start all over again.

OMG, this snow is driving me nuts. Still coming down, and there's enough that hubby will want to fire up the ol' plow truck tonight. It's the middle of April for cryin' out loud...

BTW... I have photos of every egg package I've ever received...

Tell Jim you're not the only one.

What REALLY bites me is today is the day my son's golden retriever had the pins removed from his femur. (Some anonymous person hit him in November by our driveway.) So I had to go in at 8:00 and it was snowing like crazy - they hadn't plowed the road - and its still doing the same and I have to pick the poor guy up at 5:00 in Palmer! Why today? Why the middle of April? Why ask why?

I was just noticing how bare the driveways were yesterday. I was able to walk around in my slip-on sandals, because there was no snow. Now I go out and wade around in it. Freakin' Mother Nature must be PMSing...
