We have been jogging on our bare dirt road for a week. The plow truck just went by for the second time in 2 days. He might be premature.

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

Congratulations Deb.

I'm very excited about your eggs in my incubator. I've heard that a lower humidity is good for the BCMs, too... I'm trying it out in a separate Hovabator. The problem with my girl's eggs is that they're HUGE, very dark, and the shell is so thick I don't think the chick can pip!

Doesn't help that they're beautiful if I can't hatch them. I may move my girls to the general population and just start all over again.

OMG, this snow is driving me nuts. Still coming down, and there's enough that hubby will want to fire up the ol' plow truck tonight. It's the middle of April for cryin' out loud...

Tori I think I've figured it out. Your guys are too polite and genteel to get rough with the shell. My guys are street hoodlums and probably have numchuks (sp?) and brass knuckles in there!

What joy awaits!
Well I am going forth to face the road. I shall return, either bearing my shield or on it. (drum roll)

I'm dying to candle one minute, then the next I swear I won't be touching these until lockdown. I look at the three hygrometers and thermometers e.v.e.r.y time I walk by, and sometimes on the way back.

I have Debs eggs on each side of the fan so I can see them easiest, and everytime I look in, I'm hoping to see something, and it's only day seven.

I got smart, I have the incubators in the computer room!

Needless to say, I don't have to go far.....

Out of curiosity I opened up the 7 remaining eggs. Two were quitters at probably day 15-16 or so, and the rest were fully developed chicks, yolk sac absorbed but all were dead?!?!?!
