They are doing great, growing like weeds, and are outside during the day on the porch now.

I will get the camera out to get some shots for you.

I have to take some pics soon Tori, I'd like to get everyone's opinion on the gender. They are getting soo big. My brooder is in the living room directly behind the couch where I sit while I'm on the computer, and they're so nosey I can feel the little chickie eyes on the back of my head.

Oh just you wait until you have those little black terrors running around your brooder, you'll have eyes on more than just the back of your head! ROFLMBO!!!

One of my 3 week olds has a broken leg....UGH!! Do you guys think a Q-tip would work to stabilize it? Donna, that boy you liked is HUGE! He towers over everyone!

Is my name still on him before "freezer"?
My terrors are in the greenhouse with Mr T, Tori's Dellie rooster....He keeps them in line!

I hate it when stuff like that happens! Q-tip, popsicle stick... how big is the leg? Can you slice a straw lengthwise and tape it into place to stabilize? Where is it broken?

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

I hear you Donna! If it's just for eggs, that's one thing... Patience is key with any of the breeds that are harder to come by. We're not being mean (at least not intentionally

) but we've waiting and worked for the birds we have. It took me 2 years and LOTS of eggs shipped in to get the flock of Dorkings I have now. I have one Red Rooster that is easily worth $200 for the eggs I had shipped in. It definitely takes time and patience.

BTW, Donna, how are your Ameraucana babies doing? They grow so fast... any new photos?

I know what you mean. I would also like to get a nice flock of BLRWs with good color but I won't know how that is going to turn out for a while. This is going to be a lengthy, on going process.
The people I got the BCMs from had concentrated on egg color, which was really very good, but are now trying to upgrade the physical characteristics of their birds. Getting both those things to their best standard at the same time is a staggering undertaking. My appreciation for what you and Deb are trying to do is extreme.
