I wanred to pass on that I got my Organic Gardening magazine today and there is an article about backyard chickens (the practice, not the site) and there is a beautiful Appenzeller Spitzhauben hen on the cover....Apparently, according to the article, having chickens is not only practical, it is now"chic". The things you find out! We're "chic"!

I just swamped out a brooder this morning. I didn't feel chic then I may tell you!

I tried making it with apple cores, and even though I was careful, it brew mold all over the place.

Actually Paula, I have purchased kombucha at the health food store I believe, and its really good... Miles better than Dad's

I never associated it with what he made.. much different.
Mold is a real problem with vinegar... I have had to restart several times because of it...
